putting on in cooperation with the Basin and Range Province Seismic

is appropriate.  Please contact myself if you have any questions.

Attached is the announcement.

Thank You,

The University of Missouri-Rolla Geological Engineering Program would like to announce the availability of our new Masters of Engineering in Geotechnics distance (web) based degree, that is being offered starting August 2004.

http://www.umr.edu/~gtech

is the web site that describes the program.

The upward mobility of professionals in the geotechnical field requires advanced degrees, but not all are willing or able to take an extended leave of absence to attend a university.  Web based education will allow students to continue their work, while taking virtual classes at their convenience.  This degree will apply to professionals in government, consulting, mining, oil, and educators, from both the USA and other countries.

HIGHLIGHTS:
  • The program has just now received final approval.
  • The program will start this year, first classes start in August of 2004.
  • Courses will be offered by various Departments on campus.
  • Please see the web site for further details.

We offer a variety of courses from Geological Engineering, and give credit for a variety of course taken from the following programs:
  • Civil Engineering
  • Environmental Engineering
  • Mining Engineering
  • Petroleum Engineering
  • Geology and Geophysics

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.
